Softball Recap: Tri-Valley Takes a Loss

Tri-Valley lost against Sheridan back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Scotties took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. The contest marked the Scotties' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Paiton Murphy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alivia Reffitt made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Delaney Bell, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Tri-Valley's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 11-5. As for Sheridan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

While Tri-Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
