Fountain Hills is a perfect 5-0 against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Falcons will host the Spartans at 3:45 p.m. The timing is sure in Fountain Hills' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Scottsdale Preparatory Academy has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Fountain Hills will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Phoenix Christian, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Falcons put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 9-1 win on Thursday. Considering the Falcons have won nine matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
JJ Pena tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Griffin Bos, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam Barnard, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy came up short against Scottsdale Christian Academy on Thursday and fell 4-1.
Sehaj Malhi put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Malhi was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.
Malhi wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ben Bubar, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Fountain Hills is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Fountain Hills was able to grind out a solid win over Scottsdale Preparatory Academy when the teams last played on April 4th, winning 6-2. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
