Recap: Woodson Warriors vs. Jackson-Reed Tigers

On Friday, The Woodson Warriors faced the Jackson-Reed Tigers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Woodson put the hurt on Jackson-Reed with a sharp 40-15 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.

William Simmons continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 235 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Dameon Simms got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Woodson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Jackson-Reed, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Woodson will head out on the road to face off against Ballou at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Ballou is ranked 12th, while Woodson is ranked sixth). As for Jackson-Reed, they will be playing at home against Roosevelt at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
