North Central III (8 Man) recap Oct. 9, 2012

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Rincon Valley Christian, who took down 61st ranked Rincon Valley Christian, 60-28.

Point Arena was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in North Central III (8 Man). Earlier in the week, the Pirates triumphed over Round Valley 54-0.

5-foot-5 quarterback Russel Kaser of Laytonville is the league leader in passing yards this season with 546. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, Potter Valley's Dustin Woolley has rushed for 638 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cavin Hawkins. The Rincon Valley Christian star has 12 catches for 243 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Eagles take on the Warriors. As it stands, Rincon Valley Christian is in fourth, while Laytonville is in second.

There should be lots of points scored when Brad Rickard's team and corey james' team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Eagles comes in having scored 230 this season, while the Warriors have scored 255. Rincon Valley Christian scored 28 points last week as it lost to Anderson Valley.

Mendocino extended the longest winning streak in North Central III (8 Man) this week by beating the Bearcats, 28-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Cardinals.
