Softball Game Preview: Goose Creek Gators vs. Timberland Wolves

The Goose Creek Gators will face off against the Timberland Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Goose Creek has given up an average of 12.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Goose Creek's offense. They came up short against Cane Bay on Wednesday, falling 15-0. The Gators' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Timberland sidestepped Charleston Math & Science for a 9-7 win.

The team relied heavily on Kaylee Waters, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Aleighyia Wright was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Timberland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Timberland's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Goose Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Goose Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Timberland in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 12-7. Does Goose Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Timberland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
