Softball Recap: Elton Indians vs. Singer Hornets

Elton extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 2-14. They lost 21-3 to the Singer Hornets. The Indians were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in March of 2025.

Kynzleigh Myers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Dynver Gradney, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Singer, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 24th (when they won 25-1).

On Singer's side, Lilly Braneff made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Braneff was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Singer got a massive performance out of Charleigh Zaunbrecher, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave Zaunbrecher a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hanna Johnson, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elton will square off against Basile at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Singer, they will face off against South Cameron at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
