Basketball Recap: Lutheran Piles Up the Points Against Griggsville-Perry

Lutheran posted their biggest victory since December 10, 2024 on Saturday. They blew past the Griggsville-Perry Tornadoes 61-31. The Crusaders pushed the score to 56-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tornadoes cut but never quite recovered from.

Brody Rush and Quentin Booker Jr. certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Rush posted ten points, while Booker Jr. scored six points.

Lutheran pushed their record up to 7-18 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Griggsville-Perry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran will welcome Hartsburg-Emden at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lutheran is facing Hartsburg-Emden at the right time seeing as Hartsburg-Emden is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Griggsville-Perry, they will host South County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
