Preview: McQueen Lancers vs. Bishop Manogue Miners
The McQueen Lancers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Bishop Manogue Miners at 6:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, McQueen didn't have too much trouble with Reno on the road as they won 21-6.
Carl "Tre" LaGrone III and Nason Rodriguez were among the main playmakers for McQueen as the former rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown and the latter rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. McQueen also got a significant boost from Lorenzo Tabua, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 88 yards.
Meanwhile, Bishop Manogue had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.2 points), and they went ahead and made it seven two weeks ago. They blew past Damonte Ranch, posting a 45-18 win at home. Considering Bishop Manogue has won seven games by more than 24 points this season, two weeks ago's blowout was nothing new.
Bishop Manogue's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cody Fleischmann, who rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Fleischmann hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Philip Jacobs, who threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes.
McQueen's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Bishop Manogue, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2.
McQueen took a serious blow against Bishop Manogue in their previous matchup back in September, falling 42-6. Can McQueen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
