Preview: Horseshoe Bend Mustangs vs. Hagerman Pirates
The Horseshoe Bend Mustangs will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Hagerman Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Idaho (Horseshoe Bend is ranked 113th, while Hagerman is ranked 102nd).
Even though Horseshoe Bend has not done well against Council recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Horseshoe Bend came out on top against Council by a score of 51-42.
Horseshoe Bend's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Porter Larson led the charge by scoring 16 points along with three steals. Layth Bromgard was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hagerman pushed their score all the way to 63 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Dietrich by a score of 65-63.
Horseshoe Bend now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Hagerman, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Horseshoe Bend came up short against Hagerman when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 45-36. Can Horseshoe Bend avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
