Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Home Victories for Billingsley

Billingsley extended their home winning streak to eight games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Alana Jones. The Billingsley Bears blew past Breakthrough Charter 51-15 on Thursday thanks in part to Jones, who dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 11 boards, and 11 steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last 30 times she's played.

Another player making a difference was McKenna Manning, who posted seven points in addition to five boards and four steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January.

Billingsley moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Breakthrough Charter, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Billingsley will host Autauga Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Breakthrough Charter, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Billingsley at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
