Basketball Game Preview: Goodpasture Christian Cougars vs. Friendship Christian Commanders

Goodpasture Christian is 10-0 against Friendship Christian since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Goodpasture Christian Cougars will host the Friendship Christian Commanders at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Goodpasture Christian's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Friendship Christian has been banged up by 14 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Goodpasture Christian will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two points last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Ezell-Harding Christian on Tuesday. Goodpasture Christian walked away with a 63-50 win over Ezell-Harding Christian.

Goodpasture Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addi Ruffin out in front who went 7 for 10 en route to 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Ruffin has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Jones, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on her way to 20 points.

Meanwhile, Friendship Christian lost to Davidson Academy on the road by a 48-30 margin on Tuesday.

Friendship Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Goodpasture Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Goodpasture Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Friendship Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 36-27.
