Basketball Recap: Knox Comes Up Short

Knox was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the South Bend St. Joseph Huskies, falling 57-35. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Huskies are ranked 140th).

Leading South Bend St. Joseph to victory were Trinity Parker and Kayla Woods. Parker went 9 for 14 on her way to 20 points and three steals, while Woods posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Woods is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kenadie Schrock, who had six points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Knox's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for South Bend St. Joseph, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Knox will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Winamac at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. South Bend St. Joseph will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Caston at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
