Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastside). They put the hurt on the Thomas Walker Pioneers with a sharp 16-1 win on Friday. Considering the Spartans have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Zoe Sartin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three doubles and four RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Emma Sartin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Hannah Gullett also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Eastside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Eastside's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Thomas Walker, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.
