Baseball Game Preview: Zimmerman Thunder vs. Monticello Magic

Zimmerman is 0-3 against Monticello since May of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Thunder will host the Magic at 4:30 p.m. Zimmerman has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Zimmerman is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Spring Lake Park, falling 16-6.

Meanwhile, Monticello entered their tilt with St. Francis on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Fighting Saints.

Gavin Gardner tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Monticello's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tim Marcus, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Another was Brock Holthaus, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 7-2. As for Zimmerman, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
