Baseball Game Preview: Addison Trail Blazers vs. Berwyn/Cicero Morton Mustangs

For the second straight game, Addison Trail will face off against Berwyn/Cicero Morton. The Blazers will venture away from home to take on the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Addison Trail took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Berwyn/Cicero Morton, sneaking past 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blazers have posted since April 25, 2024.

Addison Trail got a great performance from Jordan Ciezobka as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. The Blazers are 3-1 when Ciezobka allows two or fewer earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Matt Garcia was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Louie Franczak, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Addison Trail pushed their record up to 6-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Berwyn/Cicero Morton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
