Softball Game Preview: Living Water Homeschool Marlins vs. Lawrence Central Bears

The Living Water Homeschool Marlins will head out on the road to challenge the Lawrence Central Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Living Water Homeschool has nine straight victories, Lawrence Central has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Living Water Homeschool's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against South Bend Adams as they made off with a 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Marlins, who have now won 11 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Macy Bush was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Jones, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Lawrence Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Elwood on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 11-10. Even if the Bears couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Lawrence Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Living Water Homeschool, their win bumped their record up to 17-5.

Everything went Living Water Homeschool's way against Lawrence Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Living Water Homeschool made off with a 17-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marlins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
