Soccer Recap: Brookland-Cayce Triumphs

Brookland-Cayce's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Saluda Tigers a 3-0 shutout. The Bearcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Hailey Jiminez-Cortez and Lydia Buhl scored all three of Brookland-Cayce's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

The victory got Brookland-Cayce back to even at 1-1. As for Saluda, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Brookland-Cayce will square off against Westwood at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Saluda, they will challenge Ben Lippen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
