Volleyball Recap: Eastwood Troopers vs. Southlake Carroll Dragons

Eastwood and Southlake Carroll squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Eastwood had to settle for second. They came up short against the Southlake Carroll Dragons, falling 3-0. Considering the last time the Troopers couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

Eastwood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angelyah Galford, who had ten kills, nine digs, and a block. Galford has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more kills the last 21 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Gandara, who had 19 digs.

Ashley Tam was the offensive standout of the game as she had five digs and 16 assists.

With the loss, Eastwood broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 35-6. As for Southlake Carroll, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 27-10 record this season.
