Baseball Game Preview: Lee-Scott Academy Warriors vs. Pike Road Patriots

The Lee-Scott Academy Warriors will face off against the Pike Road Patriots at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Lee-Scott Academy lost 13-1 to Enterprise on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly 12 runs.

Lee-Scott Academy got a good showing from Harrison Short, who struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Short a new career-high.

At the plate, Lee-Scott Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allen Owen, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Pike Road beat Clay-Chalkville 7-2 on Friday.

Hunter Matthes and Ethan Hunter dominated on the mound. Matthes tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits, while Hunter tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Runner Stripling was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Quinton Robinson, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases.

Lee-Scott Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pike Road, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
