Soccer Game Preview: Pass Christian vs. St. Patrick

The Pass Christian Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the St. Patrick Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Patrick is hoping to do what Harrison Central couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Pass Christian's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Pass Christian never let Harrison Central onto the board and left with a 7-0 win. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Red Rebels are ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pass Christian hit Harrison Central with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Noah Roche (2), Evan Godlewski (2), Trey Roche (2), and Jermey Matute.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Patrick, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They blew past Bay 5-1 on Friday. Considering the Fighting Irish's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

St. Patrick's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Pass Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season.

Pass Christian came up short against St. Patrick when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Pass Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
