Concord has gone 8-2 against Warsaw recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Minutemen will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Concord is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Concord will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Goshen on Wednesday. The Minutemen were the clear victors by a 17-4 margin over the RedHawks. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Minutemen as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Allison Ralston spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Cassi Reames was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Esmeralda Perez, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Concord kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goshen only managed seven hits.
Meanwhile, Warsaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 10-4 to Northridge.
Bayleigh Sleeth was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Ellyse Walters was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
The victory got Concord back to even at 5-5. As for Warsaw, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Concord was able to grind out a solid win over Warsaw in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 8-4. Will the Minutemen repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
