Softball Recap: Laingsburg Extends Winning Streak to Four

Laingsburg extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping their season record up to 4-0 in the process. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Dansville Aggies. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-2 on Monday.

As for Dansville, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly four runs.

For Dansville's part, Laci Neal was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Neal has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Neal wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryker Graf, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Graf has hit this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laingsburg will head out to square off against East Lansing at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Dansville, they are taking a road trip to face off against Webberville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Aggies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
