Football Game Preview: Reidsville Rams vs. Central Davidson Spartans

Reidsville has won six straight games at home, while Central Davidson has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Rams will welcome the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Reidsville's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last nine games.

Reidsville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Eastern Wayne with points to spare, taking the game 41-24.

Michael Smith had a dynamite game, rushing for 209 yards and one touchdown while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. Those 209 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Smith was just one part of a punishing run game: Reidsville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 359 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Reidsville, adding 17 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Dionte Neal, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.

Meanwhile, Central Davidson didn't have too much trouble with North Pitt on Friday as they won 40-22. The Spartans pushed the score to 34-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.
