Basketball Recap: Maplewood Takes a Loss

Maplewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a blow against the Bristol Panthers, falling 73-31. The Rockets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-17.

Despite the defeat, Maplewood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore David Kern dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Kern a new career-high in rebounds. Trevor Shipman was another key player, putting up seven points.

Maplewood's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Bristol, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
