Recap: Latin Romans vs. Regina Dominican Panthers
The Latin Romans proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 30) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-39 win over Regina Dominican. The win made it back-to-back wins for Latin.
Despite the defeat, Regina Dominican saw an underclassman step up: Olivia Fraterrigo dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jillian DeFranza, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Latin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. As for Regina Dominican, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Latin and IC Catholic Prep will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Regina Dominican, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cristo Rey St. Martin at 6:00 p.m.
