Baseball Recap: Fort Walton Beach Vikings vs. Escambia Gators

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fort Walton Beach can now relate to. They fell just short of the Escambia Gators by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. Fort Walton Beach has not had much luck with Escambia recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Hunter Tarchalski was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Tarchalski was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Avery Warren made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3.
