Softball Game Preview: Canton Warriors vs. Northwestern Regional Highlanders

The Canton Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Northwestern Regional Highlanders at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Canton's offense. They lost 9-0 to Ellington on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Northwestern Regional had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Nonnewaug on Thursday, falling 9-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Highlanders in their meetings with the Chiefs: they've now lost six in a row.

Canton couldn't quite get it done against Northwestern Regional in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 10-5. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
