Ness City scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Spearville Lancers by a score of 13-12. The loss leaves the Eagles still looking for their first win of the season.

Ness City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Spearville, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Ness City will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cimarron at 4:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Spearville, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 16-1 win against Ellis on the 7th.
