Volleyball Recap: Rootstown Rovers vs. Chagrin Falls Tigers
The Rootstown Rovers came up short against the Chagrin Falls Tigers on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Rovers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rootstown was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Chagrin Falls work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 20-25, 26-24, 25-16.
Colbie Curall paced Rootstown's offense, picking up nine kills. Curall got some help from Kylie Shelly and her 13 assists. Finally, Curall was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high seven blocks.
Chagrin Falls found their leader in freshman Margaret Svette, who had 22 assists and six digs.
Rootstown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Chagrin Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
