After only one run in their last game, Eastmont made sure to put some runs up on the board against West Valley on Tuesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Rams. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Brittany Howe made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Eastmont got a massive performance out of Halle Radach, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Liz Fulbright was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple.
Eastmont is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for West Valley, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-6.
Coincidentally, Eastmont and West Valley will both be playing Sunnyside the next time they take the field. The Rams will host the Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on the 25th.
