Softball Recap: Monroe Central Beats Shenandoah for Their Third Straight Win

Monroe Central entered their tilt with Shenandoah on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Zeps. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in March.

Monroe Central got a massive performance out of Karsyn Muncy, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Muncy has launched this season. Jadyn Miller was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Monroe Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Monroe Central's record now sits at 11-2. As for Shenandoah, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Monroe Central will square off against Bellaire at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shenandoah, they will venture away from home to face off against Waterford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
