Football Game Preview: Collinsville Kahoks vs. Althoff Catholic Crusaders

Collinsville is 0-5 against Althoff Catholic since August of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Kahoks will host the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Collinsville put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 50-3 victory over Granite City. The Kahoks' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Jace Wilkinson was his usual excellent self, throwing for 235 yards and five TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 50 yards and one score. Those 235 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Matthew Reynolds was another key player, picking up 81 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Collinsville's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was AJ Richardson with two.

Meanwhile, Althoff Catholic strolled past Mt. Vernon with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 37-20. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Althoff Catholic now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Collinsville, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Collinsville was dealt a bruising 54-14 loss at the hands of Althoff Catholic in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Kahoks were down 34-7.
