Preview: Stratford Knights vs. Goose Creek Gators
Stratford has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Goose Creek Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Stratford suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Wednesday. They were beaten by Cane Bay 84-57. Stratford has not had much luck with Cane Bay recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Stratford's loss came about despite a quality game from Nizhier Baldwin, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Amari Washington, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Goose Creek's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wando.
Stratford has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Goose Creek, they bumped their record down to 9-9 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Stratford took a serious blow against Goose Creek when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 68-26. Can Stratford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
