After a string of five wins, Columbus HomeSchool's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a 44-16 loss at the hands of the HRK Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 163rd in Indiana, while the Eagles are ranked 20th in Illinois).

Brooklyn Barnes was Columbus HomeSchool's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Lauren Barnes held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Columbus HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for HRK, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Columbus HomeSchool wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 37-35 win against Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats on the 25th. As for HRK, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Oakhill Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th.
