Basketball Game Preview: Rockford Auburn Knights vs. Hononegah Indians

Rockford Auburn will head into Saturday's matchup having proved themselves against Rockford East: Rockford Auburn took a 21-point loss the last time they faced off against Rockford East, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Rockford Auburn came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockford East on Saturday, sneaking past 59-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted against the E-Rabs since February 12, 2020.

Rockford Auburn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amir Danforth, who went 9 of 21 en route to 21 points and five rebounds. The contest was Danforth's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Champ Parker, who posted 12 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Meanwhile, Hononegah didn't have too much trouble with Belvidere North on Friday as they won 52-33.

Rockford Auburn's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Hononegah, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-7.
