Scottsbluff junior belts a triple and two home runs in the Cornhusker State's top diamond performance.
As the Nebraska high school softball season heads into its third of eight weekends, Scottsbluff junior Taryn Spady appears to be in midseason form.
With a 1.108 slugging percentage for the season, Spady baffled opposing pitchers from the plate in the latter stages of August. Through the first nine games of the season, Spady led her team to eight wins by going 21-of-37 from the plate, scoring 19 runs and knocking in 23 runs with four doubles, a pair of triples and four home runs.
This week's Top 10 individual softball performance of August, however, made room for Spady at the top due to her performance in an 8-6 loss to Gering Aug. 26. During Scottsbluff's lone loss of the season, Spady went 3-for-4 from the plate, scored three times and knocked in an additional four runs. Daniel Fox's star player was credited with a triple and two home runs in the contest.
Hastings Adams Central's Macie Wolever sits in the No. 2 spot after going 3-for-4 from the plate in a 10-9 loss to Scottsbluff. The junior short stop scored two times and knocked in five RBI. She also slapped a double and knocked a couple of balls out of the park.
