Spring-Ford is a perfect 10-0 against Owen J. Roberts since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Jess Fliszar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Owen J. Roberts had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with a 12-3 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Maddie Reed was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Owen J. Roberts got a big performance out of Bella Winnick, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Amelia Atkins was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Owen J. Roberts hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.
Spring-Ford's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Owen J. Roberts, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Spring-Ford was able to grind out a solid victory over Owen J. Roberts in their previous meeting on April 1st, winning 7-4. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
