Reigning NFL MVP has family accept hometown honor as California school names field after Bills superstar.
The reigning NFL MVP's route to the league had stops at Reedley Junior College and the University of Wyoming.
His humble roots and journey were honored Friday at halftime as Firebaugh dedicated the field "Josh Allen Field" and placed a plaque at the stadium for its famous son.
His family was on hand to accept the dedication plaque as there was also Allen autographed memorabilia being raffled.
On Friday, Firebaugh didn't pull off the Bills Mafia tricks of jumping
through folding tables, but they did offer Buffalo wings and tots at the
snack bar as the Eagles looked to move to 4-3 against Tranquility.
A three-sport athlete at the Central Valley school, he threw for 5,269 yards and 59 touchdowns at Firebaugh. As a senior, Allen had more than 3,000 yards passing and 33 scores to go along with 400 yards rushing and four TDs.
