The Sacred Heart Valkyries will venture away from home to square off against the Meade County Green Waves at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sacred Heart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Sacred Heart was able to grind out a solid victory over Butler, taking the game 12-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Valkyries.

Isabella Boyd was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Tatum Etheridge was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Boyd wasn't the only one making solid contact: Sacred Heart kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Meade County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Decatur on Friday. The Green Waves' pitchers stepped up to hand the Red Raiders a 13-0 shutout. The Green Waves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

Meade County's record now sits at 6-2. As for Sacred Heart, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Sacred Heart has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Meade County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Sacred Heart might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Meade County in their previous meeting back in May of 2019. Can the Valkyries avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
