Softball Game Preview: Hicks Pirates vs. Rosepine Eagles

The Hicks Pirates will square off against the Rosepine Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hicks is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Hicks had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt David Thibodaux on Friday. Everything went Hicks' way against David Thibodaux as Hicks made off with a 14-3 victory. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by ten runs or more this season.

Hicks got a massive performance out of Kaydence Hickman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Hickman hit this season. Another player making a difference was Abby Addison, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Hicks always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as David Thibodaux only posted an OBP of .360.

Meanwhile, Rosepine didn't have quite enough to beat Quitman on Friday and fell 2-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hicks' win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Rosepine, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
