Softball Recap: Willowbrook Takes a Loss

Willowbrook came into this matchup off a tough eight-run defeat on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the York Dukes by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Dukes recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Willowbrook saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marli Smrz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Willowbrook's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for York, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-9.

Looking ahead, Willowbrook will be playing at home against Leyden at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for York, they will head out on the road to face off against Sycamore at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
