Baseball Recap: Lake Brantley Find Success

Lake Brantley won the last time they faced East River and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lake Brantley Patriots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the East River Falcons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Lake Brantley got a great performance from Elijah Guzman as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Furthermore, Guzman didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew Barr, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Maurice Brown, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Lake Brantley's record now sits at 2-0. As for East River, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Lake Brantley will welcome Windermere at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Lake Brantley has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for East River, they will challenge Mount Dora Christian Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
