If Columbus Academy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Worthington Christian on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the Buckeye Valley Barons on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Columbus Academy may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 20 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 25-20.

Morgan Spalding paced Columbus Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Spalding got some help from Sammie Wurtzman and her 14 assists. Spalding was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Leading Buckeye Valley to victory were Delaney Lozier and Payton Loedding. Lozier had 13 digs and three aces, while Loedding had 17 assists and ten digs. That's the most digs Loedding has posted since September 2nd.

Columbus Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Buckeye Valley, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
