Apex won the last time they faced Panther Creek and things went their way on Monday too. The Cougars blew past the Catamounts 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

One reason for the win was Apex's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-11.

Elyse Smelcer paced Apex's offense, picking up 11 kills. Smelcer got some help from Paola Quirez and her 12 assists. Smelcer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Several Catamounts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabby Uzo, who had five kills and one block.

Apex's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Panther Creek, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-18.

Coming up, Apex will face off against Green Hope at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Panther Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
