Eagle Valley waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Glenwood Springs Demons with a sharp 13-3 win. Considering the Devils have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

James Bivins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Anthony Ehlert was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Colter Blakey was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double.

Eagle Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive contests.

Eagle Valley's record is now 16-3. As for Glenwood Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Eagle Valley beat the Demons by a score of 16-6 later that day.
