Soccer Game Preview: West Ridge vs. Science Hill

West Ridge hasn't had much luck against Science Hill recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Wolves are taking a road trip to challenge the Hilltoppers at 6:00 p.m.

West Ridge is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to nine goals on Thursday, they were much more limited against Dobyns-Bennett on Tuesday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, West Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Dobyns-Bennett are ranked 43rd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Science Hill). They never let Daniel Boone get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Tuesday. Samuel Moody was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Something new happened on Tuesday as Oluwatomiwa Faleke saw his first action of the season, playing 30 minutes against Daniel Boone. Faleke made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Science Hill is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five matches. As for West Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-4.

West Ridge suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Science Hill in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
