Softball Recap: Rosamond Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop Union, Rosamond was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They skirted past the Ridgeview Wolf Pack 6-4. This was a revenge game for the Roadrunners: when they faced off against the Wolf Pack last Saturday, they had to take a 9-4 loss.

Chloe Lopez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alexis Rico, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Johanna Marquez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Rosamond has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. Ridgeview is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6-1.

Looking ahead, Rosamond will welcome Bishop Union at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ridgeview, they will head out on the road to face off against Bakersfield Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
