Holy Names Academy lost to Lincoln two weeks ago, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Holy Names Academy was the clear victor by a 16-5 margin over Lincoln. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for Holy Names Academy this season.

Maria Coussens and Lee Smedstad did most of the damage at the plate: Coussens scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Smedstad scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Coussens also put up two hits, which were her first of the season. Delanie Gilda was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI and two runs.

Holy Names Academy's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Lincoln, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Holy Names Academy will welcome Nathan Hale at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Holy Names Academy will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Lincoln, they will take on Ballard at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lynx's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Beavers have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
