Basketball Recap: Jackson Has No Trouble Against Clarke County

Jackson won the last time they faced Clarke County and things went their way on Friday too. The Jackson Aggies came out on top against the Clarke County Bulldogs by a score of 54-41. That 13 point margin sets a new team best for the Aggies this season.

Jackson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Sims, who went 9 of 12 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. Those 18 points gave Sims a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Powell, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Jackson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Jackson now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Clarke County, they moved to 4-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Jackson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-33 victory against LeFlore on the 14th. As for Clarke County, they will welcome Thomasville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
