Football Recap: Stevenson Takes a Loss

Stevenson extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They lost 40-14 to the King's Way Christian Knights. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 42-24 to the Knights when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for King's Way Christian, they moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

King's Way Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Owen Paulsen out in front who threw for 339 yards and four TDs while picking up 14.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 33 yards and a pair of scores. The Knights are 2-1 when Paulsen posts 250 or more passing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. Rylan Richter was Paulsen's top target, picking up 148 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Stevenson and King's Way Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Bulldogs (ranked 242nd) will meet La Center (ranked 79th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, King's Way Christian will face off against Seton Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (234 vs. 109).
